MATAGORDA TEXAS TO INTRACOASTAL CITY LOUISIANA. A TROPICAL STORM
WARNING MEANS THAT TROPICAL STORM CONDITIONS ARE LIKELY WITHIN THE
WARNING AREA WITHIN 24 HOURS.
REPORTS FROM AN AIR FORCE RESERVE UNIT RECONNAISSANCE AIRCRAFT
INDICATE THAT THE AREA OF DISTURBED WEATHER IN THE NORTHWESTERN GULF
OF MEXICO HAS BECOME TROPICAL DEPRESSION SIX.
AT 4 PM CDT...2100Z...THE CENTER OF TROPICAL DEPRESSION SIX WAS
LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 28.1 NORTH...LONGITUDE 93.8 WEST OR ABOUT
100 MILES SOUTHEAST OF GALVESTON TEXAS.
THE DEPRESSION IS STATIONARY. STEERING CURRENTS ARE WEAK...AND A
SLOW AND ERRATIC MOTION IS EXPECTED OVER THE NEXT 24 HOURS.
MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 35 MPH...WITH HIGHER
GUSTS...MAINLY TO THE NORTH OF THE CENTER. THE DEPRESSION IS
EXPECTED TO BECOME A TROPICAL STORM TONIGHT OR TOMORROW.
