A TROPICAL STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM GRAND ISLE LOUISIANA
TO APALACHICOLA FLORIDA.
AT 4 AM CDT...0900Z...THE TROPICAL STORM WATCH EAST OF APALACHICOLA
IS DISCONTINUED.
AT 4 AM CDT...0900Z...THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM HANNA WAS LOCATED
NEAR LATITUDE 29.2 NORTH...LONGITUDE 89.0 WEST OR VERY NEAR THE
MOUTH OF THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER.
HANNA IS MOVING TOWARD THE NORTH NEAR 9 MPH. A TURN TO THE
NORTH-NORTHEAST AT A FASTER FORWARD SPEED IS EXPECTED LATER TODAY.
ON THE EXPECTED TRACK...THE CENTER OF THE TROPICAL STORM WILL BE
CLOSE TO THE COASTLINE IN THE WARNING AREA NEAR MIDDAY. HOWEVER...
NEARLY ALL OF THE HAZARDOUS WEATHER ASSOCIATED WITH HANNA IS LOCATED
WELL TO THE EAST OF THE CENTER.
MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 50 MPH... 85 KM/HR...WITH HIGHER
GUSTS. LITTLE CHANGE IN STRENGTH IS EXPECTED PRIOR TO LANDFALL.
TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS EXTEND OUTWARD UP TO 145 MILES...MAINLY
EAST OF THE CENTER.
THE MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE REPORTED BY RECONNAISSANCE AIRCRAFT WAS
1003 MB...29.62 INCHES.
RAINFALL ACCUMULATIONS OF 4 TO 8 INCHES...WITH ISOLATED HIGHER
AMOUNTS...CAN BE EXPECTED TO THE EAST OF THE PATH OF THE CENTER OF
HANNA.
THERE IS A RISK OF ISOLATED TORNADOES...FROM MOBILE EASTWARD ACROSS
ALABAMA AND THE FLORIDA PANHANDLE.
