COASTAL INTERESTS IN THE WESTERN GULF OF MEXICO SHOULD MONITOR THE
PROGRESS OF CLAUDETTE.
AT 4 PM CDT...2100Z...THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM CLAUDETTE WAS
LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 24.7 NORTH... LONGITUDE 91.1 WEST OR ABOUT
400 MILES EAST-SOUTHEAST OF BROWNSVILLE TEXAS.
DURING THE AFTERNOON CLAUDETTE MOVED NORTHWARD...BUT THIS MOTION IS
NOT EXPECTED TO CONTINUE. CLAUDETTE IS NOW MOVING TOWARD THE
NORTH-NORTHWEST NEAR 8 MPH. A NORTHWESTERLY MOTION IS EXPECTED TO
RESUME THIS EVENING...AND A TURN TO THE WEST-NORTHWEST IS EXPECTED
WITHIN THE NEXT 24 HOURS.
MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 50 MPH... 85 KM/HR...WITH HIGHER
