AT 11 PM EDT...0300 UTC...THE TROPICAL STORM WARNING IS DISCONTINUED
FOR THE FLORIDA GULF COAST NORTH OF THE SUWANEE RIVER. A TROPICAL
STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR THE GULF COAST OF FLORIDA FROM
ENGLEWOOD NORTHWARD TO THE SUWANEE RIVER.
AT 11 PM EDT...0300Z...THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM HENRI WAS
LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 27.9 NORTH...LONGITUDE 83.8 WEST OR ABOUT 70
MILES WEST OF ST. PETERSBURG FLORIDA.
HENRI IS MOVING ERRATICALLY TOWARD THE EAST NEAR 3 MPH. A SLOW AND
ERRATIC MOTION TOWARD THE EAST-NORTHEAST IS EXPECTED DURING THE
NEXT 24 HOURS. THIS MOTION WILL LIKELY BRING THE CENTER OVER THE
FLORIDA PENINSULA ON SATURDAY.
MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS HAVE DECREASED TO NEAR 45 MPH...WITH HIGHER
GUSTS. LITTLE CHANGE IN STRENGTH IS EXPECTED BEFORE LANDFALL.
HOWEVER...HENRI WILL LIKELY WEAKEN TO A DEPRESSION OVER LAND ON
SATURDAY.
TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS EXTEND OUTWARD UP TO 45 MILES FROM THE
CENTER.
THE LATEST PRESSURE REPORTED BY AN AIR FORCE RESERVE UNIT
HURRICANE HUNTER AIRCRAFT WAS 1003 MB...29.62 INCHES.
WHILE RAINS ASSOCIATED WITH HENRI HAVE DECREASED IN THE PAST SEVERAL
HOURS...ADDITIONAL RAINFALLS OF 4-8 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE OVER
PORTIONS OF THE FLORIDA PENINSULA. DUE TO THE SATURATED GROUND
CONDITIONS AND HIGH RIVER STAGES... HEAVY RAINS COULD RESULT IN
SIGNIFICANT FLOODING.
COASTAL STORM SURGE FLOODING OF 2 TO 4 FEET ABOVE NORMAL TIDE
LEVELS CAN BE EXPECTED NEAR AND TO THE SOUTH OF WHERE THE CENTER
MAKES LANDFALL.
THERE IS A RISK OF ISOLATED TORNADOES THROUGH TONIGHT OVER
PORTIONS OF CENTRAL AND NORTH FLORIDA.
