DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 1100 PM AST (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Gaston was
located near latitude 12.6 North, longitude 30.7 West. Gaston is
moving toward the west-northwest near 18 mph (30 km/h) and this
general motion with a slight decrease in forward speed is
expected during the next couple of days.

Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 40 mph (65 km/h)
with higher gusts. Additional strengthening is expected, and Gaston
is forecast to become a hurricane Tuesday night or Wednesday.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 60 miles (95 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1005 mb (29.68 inches).

was located near latitude 25.5 North, longitude 62.3 West. The
depression is moving toward the west-northwest near 15 mph (24 km/h)
and a gradual turn toward the northwest with a decrease in forward
speed is expected over the next 48 hours.

Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts.
Fiona is expected to become a remnant low within the next couple
of days.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1010 mb (29.83 inches).
