At 500 AM EDT (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Julia
was located near latitude 30.1 North, longitude 76.4 West. The
depression is currently stationary. A slow northwestward motion
is expected to begin later today, followed by a slow northward
motion on Sunday.
Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 30 mph (45 km/h) with
higher gusts. Little change in strength is forecast during the next
48 hours, but Julia is expected to become a remnant low later today.
The estimated minimum central pressure is 1009 mb (29.80 inches).

At 500 AM AST (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Karl was
located near latitude 18.2 North, longitude 38.2 West. Karl is
moving toward the west near 14 mph (22 km/h), and this general
motion is expected to continue during the next couple of days.
Maximum sustained winds are near 45 mph (75 km/h) with higher gusts.
Little change in strength is forecast during the next 48 hours.
Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 205 miles (335 km)
to the north of the center.
The estimated minimum central pressure is 1004 mb (29.65 inches).
